Working at Ikigai for almost four years has been an incredibly enriching experience. What truly sets Ikigai apart is the culture—radical candor, mastery, and accountability aren’t just values on paper, they’re principles that shape every interaction, every decision. There’s zero tolerance for bias or preconceptions, and despite having a solid organisational structure, open conversations with anyone—regardless of role—are not only possible but encouraged.

Being a remote-first company has also given me the flexibility to grow professionally while maintaining a healthy balance with my personal life. The projects we tackle, especially building digital banks from scratch, are both rare and meaningful. What I appreciate the most is the genuine sense of care—mentorship happens naturally and spontaneously, with people truly invested in each other’s growth. Ikigai is not just a place to work—it’s a place to grow, contribute, and belong.

Working at Ikigai has been a truly rewarding experience for me. The flexibility to work remotely has been a game changer, especially since I love to travel. It allows me to explore new places while still being productive, and I genuinely appreciate that balance in my life.

What really stands out to me, though, is the incredible support from my colleagues. As someone who's not from a tech background, I've often felt like a minority, but my teammates have gone out of their way to help me learn and grow. They're always ready to explain technical concepts and share their knowledge, which has made me feel valued and included.

I also love the opportunities to immerse myself in the industry through meet-up events. Meeting different engineers and hearing their insights has not only expanded my network but also deepened my understanding of the field.

At Ikigai, I can work in areas where I excel while also being encouraged to explore new interests. It's a place where my growth is nurtured, and I couldn't ask for a better environment to thrive in.

The fully remote work environment has allowed me to spend more time with my family, as well as opened up opportunities for personal travel and growth.

I feel there is genuine care for each person's well-being. There is transparency and accountability; our voices are heard and our opinions valued.

From the beginning I've felt welcome here at Ikigai. As a full remote company, Ikigai does a great job of enabling us to keep in touch and foster relationships with our coworkers.

The leadership team is very experienced and transparent, and I believe they're taking us in the right direction. Personally I value openness and feedback a lot. Here in Ikigai I am able to reach out to anyone to ask for or provide feedback, in fact, it's encouraged by the core values of the company. This behavior and transparency allows for a healthier relationship with those who make decisions. Not every C level in the world is open to being challenged and I feel like here at Ikigai they would rather be challenged than not.

The work environment is very low stress and full of trust. The leaders believe in our abilities and when mistakes happen it's always looked at as an opportunity to learn and grow. As a company, we continuously strive to be better and improve ourselves. I believe it is a joint effort where everyone is happy to collaborate and engage in discussions on how to improve.

Overall I'm very happy in Ikigai and I hope we keep improving together!
